Mazunte Jazz Festival, Beach & Spa Photos/Videos

Well we went to check out the Jazz fest but they were just practicing and setting up. It sounded like it was going to be GREAT! Would love to go but heard it is really hard to get back to Zipolite with so many people and so we just went and returned in the afternoon. We went down to the beach and wandered around. The water was beautiful. Big waves came up on the beach and Mother Ocean urged us in but we just couldn't. She cooled us off though and we were grateful. There is a lovely spa there, maybe we will go get a manicure or pedicure. Here are the photos I took

I need Lavender Oil & Watercolour Paper Please!

(Update: I found a place that sells lavender oil...but it's pretty expensive. Not sure I can afford it ...and definitely not at the moment. )

Hola, if you are coming to Zipolite, Mazunte or even just to Huatulco could you bring me some lavender oil.

If you live in Vancouver could you please visit
Gaia Gardens Herbal Dispensary http://www.gaiagarden.com/
 https://www.facebook.com/GaiaGardenHerbals/
near Broadway and MacDonald and get a 100ml bottle of pure 100% pure lavender essential oil and bring it and I will pay you.

I would appreciate so much. Tell Angie, Tina sent you!

The first place we stayed was open and the mosquito net just wasn't working for me and I had a lot of bites and used a lot of lavender. Then we had a little ant infestation at the new place and I have figured out how to deal with them but these little warrior ants are so mean. I am allergic to bites and they leave really itchy welts on me.

I use the lavender in my homemade mosquito/bug repellent and well we are only 2 months in and I only have about 30 ml left.

So please, if you can bring me some I would appreciate it so much.  We are here until March.

I also need watercolour paper. Deserres or Opus sell small pads. 140lb weight is great and they are under $10 for about 20 pages.  I put everything in storage and accidentally packed the box with my paper. I have paint and no paper.

I promise to paint you a lovely painting or do something really nice to pay you back for your efforts.

These were all done on the paper they sell here, years ago in 2001, after the fire in Zipolite burned my camera and I re-discovered my talent of drawing and painting- it's just drawing paper,  but I would really love some actual watercolour paper. These were digitally enhanced because the paper just won't allow much paint.

Let me know if you are coming and when you get here please contact me

Thanks again if you can help. If you know anyone heading down here please tell them. You can get the lavender at many stores...Aromaforce is also a economical & good quality. It just needs to be 100% pure  lavender essential oil.

Gracias.

Looking forward to the Jazz Festival in Mazunte Nov 17, 18, 19 -2017

Mazunte Turtle Museo 2012

We were invited by a friend to visit Mazunte's Turtle Museo. It was a Christmas Gift for Angel.

We had a really nice time.

Although, Angel thought the turtles looked sad and we both agreed they need more rocks and shells and green plants in their habitats.

I hope that they can get some funding for it and help the turtles be happier :D  I told Angel we are just really used to the Vancouver Aquarium and how beautiful the habitats are.

I also told her and she knows herself, that it costs an millions of dollar to do create and maintain those habitats.  They don't have that kind of money here obviously but I hope they can get it somehow!!

For 3 people to visit the Mazunte Turtle Museo it was $87 pesos, in Canada for just Angel and I to visit it is $50. That's like 5x more to visit the Vancouver Aquarium.  But there is a lot more to see and do there .

Still I hope funding comes from somewhere to help spruce up the tanks and make it a little more cheery for the poor turtles who just swim around all day while people take their photos and look at them.

If you read this please mention it to someone who may be able to help. Thanks! :D

Here a video showing the damage done to Posada del Arquitecto. I am not familiar with this Posada but I do love Mazunte. Mazunte is a lovely laid back place, similar to Zipolite but a little more expensive. I hope people will help out where they can.

Mazunte

Blog post by Tina Winterlik © 2011

http://tinawinterlik.blogspot.com

These are just some cool videos showing dolphins, whales, & turtles. We went to theTurtle Museum and saw the turtles the first year, they were working on it the second, but I see they have no website/blog.

We really wanted to go on a boat tour,  we just never had enough money to go. And I was afraid it might be to hot and too long for Angel. That first year we had problems with heat rash. Second year was much better but we knew what to do and what not to do.

PUNTA COMETA, Oaxaca- I just love this place!

This one of my favourite places of all time. Punta Cometa, the ocean here is really hypnotic, I think I did a great job of capturing it. Some of the waves were huge, it was really a wonderful treat.

We got a ride with our friends and were able to visit late in the afternoon. Normally we went in the morning and left before noon as it gets very hot. There was a lot of people there at the end, never seen so many in the pool, but we were leaving so didn't mind.

The sun was going down and the light was beautiful. The clouds were incredible and I took some fantastic photos that day. I'm really missing it today.

Join Adventurez in Mexico for a walk on Ohm Playa and a trip to Punta Cometa with Amigos!!
