This collection of photos and videos are from our final days in Zipolite in January and February 2013. If you follow my blog http://adventurezinmexico.blogspot.mx/ you will know that my computer broke just after I managed to upload all the videos from Shambhala's Karma Cleansing.

Strangely or maybe not that strange as I guess it was a projection as I said that in January I would stop working on the computer and spend more time enjoying the sunrises. So that's what happened.

Over the next while I spent my mornings walking the beach and sometimes up to the Mediation Point. This is the first of 5 videos...I'm still working on them,...might be more or less. I was able to take some lovely photos and I am happy to share them with you now. Enjoy!!!

This Animation totally ROCK'S or should I say "Surf's..UP"

SMILE - "Perfect holiday", by Karim Rejeb from December Producciones

Today the ocean was lovely, very shallow and I really enjoyed playing in it. The colours are gorgeous blues and greens. Sometime the surf is huge and too rough. You have to be careful . If your a Surfer or Boogie Boarder you'll love Zipolite.

Oh Gosh I'm tired, it's nearly 4:30 in the morning here but I just wanted to put up these videos for Gloria of Shambhala. Everyone has been working so hard and you can see that the new paint really lifts Shambhala's Spirits. We've had the greatest time lately...it's been so quiet, there are very few tourist, we've had the beach practically to ourselves. That's a great reason for you to come on down and stay at Shambhala now, as it's so peaceful and tranquil. The waves are gorgeous and everything is lush green from all the rain. Be sure to watch all the videos below, then you will see what I am talking about!

Greetings and Salutations!

Shambhala is a natural rustic retreat nestled on a hillside on the Pacific Coast in Oaxaca, Mexico. We have been in operation for over close to 40 years and have evolved into a colony of Bohemian tourists and expatriots from different countries.

We are proud to be the only ecologically sound business in Playa Zipolite (zee-po-lee-te). The beach the Zapotecs used for grand visions on their quest for harmony with nature and the universe.

Shambhala still preserves that vision for our visitors and friends of Shambhala who continue to visit our sacred space at the far end of Zipolite beach for a wonderful respite from the stress of city life.

Please take a moment to visit our site, we have many blissful experiences to offer.

Prayer for Hurricanes
In the name of the all- powerful Creator
I invoke you, great Angel Zamiel,
As the Angel of Hurricanes,
To calm the fury of this terrible storm.
May you divert it from it's path from the most vulnerable places
to blow itself out where few can come to harm
I honor and thank you for hearing my prayer
In the name of the Almighty.

New Film about Zipolite & the Lifeguards

Blog post by Tina Winterlik © 2011

http://gplus.to/zipolita Google+

Although I have only seen the trailer I think this film focuses on some great well-known issues in Zipolite. I created a website for the Lifeguards back in 2002 to try and help with getting the word out about them and to possibly raise money for them.

I hope that this film by Jeff Arak sheds a lots of light on the issues. I have a problem with the title though and I feel people will think negatively and not actually take the time to understand that the film is about the drownings that used to occur on a constant basis,  not about violence.

While we were there in 2008/9 2009/10  we were there when Aguila and others were  celebrating 18 months with no drownings or something like that.

It's really good to see Aquila because I'm not even sure he's still there. I saw a very brave man, along with other lifeguards who have saved so many souls. I even saw the lifeguards rescue people.

Aquila was very kind to Angel and gave her 2 special shirts to help her boogie board easier. We had a lot of fun playing with his children.

I really miss Zipolite. The thing about Zipolite you have to have a ton of respect, learn the waves, use a boogie board and don't go out very far. Most of all watch the flags and pay attention to your guts.

We had so much fun there, we lived there 2 winters but there were days where we just didn't go in the water. It's very cool to see Gloria and other well known people from Zipolite in this film. Makes my heart smile. I hope some positive things come from this.

When we were in Zipolite, there was this man  and his bulldog.  He said his dog could skateboard, but we didn't actually see him do it, so I never got to record it. He said he had been in videos and everything. I think the problem was the cobblestones. A friend sent this to me this morning, I wonder if it was the same Wonder Dog! Check this out! So cool!!

Zipolite Paintings- Video

Blog post by Tina Winterlik © 2011

http://tinawinterlik.blogspot.com

Made this video last year, thought I would share with you here.

In Feb 2001 a terrible fire burned my camera along with my cabana in Zipolite, Oaxaca, Mexico. In a effort to capture the beauty around me, I started to paint. At first they were really bad, I did not know if I could paint, in highschool I had been very discouraged by my art teacher. After many paintings I realized I did have talent and in a bizarre way the fire was a good thing. Otherwise I would never have painted the many painting that I did. I hope you like them

Mazunte

Blog post by Tina Winterlik © 2011

http://tinawinterlik.blogspot.com

These are just some cool videos showing dolphins, whales, & turtles. We went to theTurtle Museum and saw the turtles the first year, they were working on it the second, but I see they have no website/blog.

We really wanted to go on a boat tour,  we just never had enough money to go. And I was afraid it might be to hot and too long for Angel. That first year we had problems with heat rash. Second year was much better but we knew what to do and what not to do.
