Night of The Radishes

This video below is excellent, be sure to watch the later part to the end that is where you see the most beautiful work. It makes me sad to watch this as I really want it to see this, and was hoping to spend time in Oaxaca this year. I hope we can next year, I really want to share this fabulous cultural experience with Angel. This is her culture after all.

Thanks to Christopher Stowens for sharing this great video and experience.
This is the caption for the video!
One of the best days of the year!! Every year on Dec.23, there is a competition in the zocalo in Oaxaca, Mexico, with large cash prizes. Thousands of people come and watch oaxaqueños create amazing works of art using radishes, corn husks or dried flowers. By nightfall, the square is so full of happy people, one can barely more. Viva Oaxaca!

Mexico City Christmas Videos

We were supposed to go to Mexico City during our first trip but things just didn't pan out, maybe one day...here is a great video I found on Youtube with incredible Nativity Scenes. I am going to post more as I come across them.

Here is the description on the video
These photos were taken in December 2006 between Christmas and New Years in Mexico City's Zocalo (and a few from the neighbourhood). The evening shots of New Year's Eve. It was a truly magical evening as locals, tourists, young, old, rich and poor celebrated together. The pink strands on the hydro wires are candy floss. Candy floss was floating in the air as it escaped from the candy floss machines. People were leaping into the air to catch a free taste. The young boy at the end was completely covered in the sticky treat. He was having the time of his life. Mexico City is an amazing place and I encourage everyone to visit.
