Here a video showing the damage done to Posada del Arquitecto. I am not familiar with this Posada but I do love Mazunte. Mazunte is a lovely laid back place, similar to Zipolite but a little more expensive. I hope people will help out where they can.

Oct 16/2012 UPDATE : Shambhala is RECOVERING WELL! Please see the following link for new photos & videos

http://adventurezinmexico.blogspot.mx/2012/10/shambhala-vision-recovering-well-after.html

Shambhala Vision has a NEW website.  http://shambhalavision.blogspot.mx/

You can contact Shambhala on the Facebook page but keep in mind there is no signal up there right now so they get to it when they can. Gracias for understanding. :) https://www.facebook.com/shambhalavision

Poor Shambhala, Poor Zipolite, the news is not good.

Thankfully no one lost their lives but it's really a disaster and as with all these things help is slow. People are just realizing how badly damaged things are. There is no water or lights. It's hot and there is no electricity for fans. Apparently there are lots of singing frogs that have appearred and it's very hard as one might imagine to sleep.

I am praying for my friends and family affected by this terrible Hurricane Carlotta. I am praying the government will get help to the people who have been badly affected by the hurricane so they can get on there feet again.

This year will be an important tourism year for Mexico and it's important the people of Zipolite can recover and benefit from it as the rest of Mexico will.

Poor Zipolite, it's so sad. It's just amazing that no one was killed. It's so sad about all the beautiful flowers and trees and all the peoples home and businesses that have been damaged or worse destroyed.

I visited Zipolite in 1999, two years after Hurricane Paulina and Gloria of Shambhala told me the scary story of how she had to hang on to the roof otherwise it would have blown away. Gloria is amazing but she getting on in years and her health has not been the best. I ask you all to please take a moment and say a prayer for Gloria and for Shambhala and for all the people she has working for her so that they can recover.

I love Shambhala. We love the meditation point and I was so looking forward to doing yoga up there and watching the birds and the ocean and just meditating. The sunset is so beautiful. We love the Karma Kleansing Ceremonies!

I'll keep you posted on things as I hear them. Here are some links you can check.

Stay Strong Gloria! We love you! We're Praying for you!
Stay Strong Zipolite and all our of loved ones and amigos at the Roca Blanca and Posada Esmeralda and to Franco and Slyvia and Javier, Tomasa and Juanito and everyone who has been so kind to us over the years, we send you many prayers and blessings and positive energy that everything comes together and you can all unite and make Zipolite even better- Greener, more Eco-friendly, solar, wind power???

I'm praying that lots of opportunities come your way and everyone can look at the door opening and not the one that closed.

I know after the fire people really pulled together and you'd be amazed how fast things got cleaned up and I know the people of Zipolite will overcome this and be better than ever and it will look like this again!!. Viva Shamhala!! https://www.facebook.com/shambhalavision

I'm not 100% sure what this says, but I believe they are trying to get the word out to everyone they need to spread the word and tell them they need to get in touch with SEDESOL /Secretaría de Economía de gobierno del Estado to get help. So help spread the word. Thanks!

**Update June 16- 7:05 PST- I have seen a few photos, the place beside La Choza was flatten, there is a lot of debris and damage on the main street, but I know from the past that the people of Zipolite will have it cleaned up quickly. I only saw a few photos you can see them on the Facebook page for Zipolite. I am still waiting to hear how Roca Blanca Posada and Shambhala faired. There are alot of trees down so it will be a bit.  https://www.facebook.com/groups/5258919189/

Carlotta has passed Zipolite now, but we haven't had actual word from anyone. There have been reports that there are no lights or power, I'm sure it's going to take a while for that to get fixed. I'm saying prayers everyone is safe and there is not to much damage. Someone posted that they had talked to their family, and that all was fine, just lots of trees down and no cells or electricity.

Here is a video of Casa De Sol. I believe it's right behind Shambhala so it will give you a good indication of what happened there yesterday.

Here is a good link to other videos and info http://aguapasada.wordpress.com/

Please lets collectively put our minds together and push this Hurricane Carlotta AWAY.
GO AWAY CARLOTTA! GO AWAY! Out to sea, away from land.

I'm saying prayers to please protect all our family and friends and keep the out of harms way.

Prayer - Hurricanes
In the name of the all- powerful Creator
I invoke you, great Angel Zamiel,
As the Angel of Hurricanes,
To calm the fury of this terrible storm.
May you divert it from it's path from the most vulnerable places
to blow itself out where few can come to harm
I honor and thank you for hearing my prayer
In the name of the Almighty.

Well lots is changing...I messed up my blogs a bit the other day and so I decided to re vamp them. I did a little tonight but still need to work on them, so stay tuned. Also lots is changing in that we are going to take a bit of a media break. We are going woofing- which means to work on an organic farm and we are going to be traveling and so I won't be online as much. Well that's where I am. I just wanted to share that with you so you won't be wondering. Okay, so now you know. :)

So Sad about Mario! :(

So sad about I'll Have Another, but at least they had two fabulous races. The part that I really enjoyed was that it sort of brought Mexico, Canada & the U.S. together and everyone was happy rooting for the same thing. I also loved that connection of the Mexican Jockey, training at our very own Hastings Park Raceway and then going to the U.S to win the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness. Very Cool!
