I'm Back!!

 It wasn't easy, let me tell you.

 I worked hard cleaning AND, CLEANING....making beds, cleaning toilets, commuting and trying to create paintings to sell, making soap and websites and social media....

 and friends and family helped and well I am ok. I made it. Hurray! I can breathe for a bit. 

Everything is much more expensive 

BUT I'M NOT LIVING IN A TENT ON THE STREET IN VANCOUVER.

Which sadly is a really for many women my age, women all ages. 

So sad. I can't imagine an YET THIS IS REALITY, so scary!!!!!! 

Just yesterday someone was stabbing people in the tentcity, and a while back someone set someone on fire and a while back someone shot homeless people. It is INSANE. I HAVE NEVER SEEN IT SO BAD.

So for 6 months I am in Mexico and praying that when I get home that a bunch of social programs are implemented and the government and people show they ACTUALLY CARE about women, mothers, sisters, daughters, nieces, grandmas. 

THAT SOMEONE ACTUALLY CARES ABOUT HUMANITY AND NOT $$$$$$$$$$$

Imagine YOUR grandma or mom forced onto the street. This is the reality for many women in Canada right now. And we are a 1st world country. Shameful Billionaires allow this. Shame anyone with power and money allows this. Shame. Shame!!

Oh my I have been working at this all morning and I need to take a break. But wanted to tell you a little story about this blog and how it really started. 

I had this idea that I could take my kid to Mexico (to meet her dad- I came home when I was pregnant- was 9/11, long story...anyhow) if I could get people to donate each section.  I had seen some PBS show of some guy traveling the world with his kids and I wanted to do that with my girl. I believed at the time I had the skills and still do but there were biases and all sorts of things that would get in my way.

The general idea was I create a post on my blog saying what I need and a person would pay that part and onwards. I had a whole trip from Vancouver to Zipolite mapped with buses and hotels and everything. In the end I just didn't have enough followers or friends to make it happen and well we just made it happen on our own. 

Fast forward 14 years and I need to get back and that is still my plan. To make a list of things I need to survive and hopefully people will help me out. I am into bartering. So like all these 31 paintings I just made, you could buy them all and send me on my way or even a few or trade me something I need.

 Tired tonight. Got a lot done and I happy with my efforts. They are coming together. Painting the white and details is fun for me. This is the part I really enjoy. 

Long ago I lived in Castlegar. It is little town in the Kootenays. I went to the library and was looking at big books. And there was a big beautiful book of flowers by Georgia O'Keefe (hope I spelled it right)

And I was stressed I felt Georgia and Maud were there saying ..." You can do this!"

And that's who I will dedicate my paintings to.

After the pep talk well things flowed much smoother and I was very grateful.

Ok late. Tomorrow I want to get early start.

So I just started this morning and feelingbreally great. I like how the backgrounds are coming together. I am having a lot of fun. I love the colour palette I chose. 

The subject matter is a challenge and that's good. I love a good challenge like this bevause at the end it fun to look back and see what you learned and how you over came or worked around..or failed..because that happens to. 

Failure isn't bad..it is a chance to inprove..to say well that's too bad..I didn't realize that but next time I will do it different. 

That is when the joy comes and you say..hey..look..it's coming together.

And a great thing about a challenge to yourself..it is just that..so relax and enjoy as rise and fall and tumble along and hopefully produce somevreally pretty pieces you will want to buy and gift to your loved ones or cherish for yourself..

Onwards amigos!

Day 1 Zipolita'z 30 in 30

 Hey Everyone 

Great news!

For next 30 days I am housesitting. With such a fab opportunity I decided to make my own "lil art residency🎨"

So I challenged myself to Paint 30 paintings in 30 Days.

Shambhala Hit Hard by #HuracanAgatha #HurricaneAgatha #Zipolite #Mexico

 This is Shambhala

It is where my dear friend Gloria created Shambhala Vision. Where I first stayed in Zipolite 1998/99

(My first visit to Zipolite was 1990)

I found it written up in the Frommners Travel book way back when.

My child and I visited and spent many hours playing there at the Meditation Point and El Boheme. She fed flowers to the iguanas and played with ants and looked at all kinds of bugs and flowers and trees.

She played in the blue green water of Ohm Playa and we ate in the restaurant a few times but often we went just to see Gloria and catch up on all her adventures and struggles and we were always amazed at Year end Celebration -Karma Cleansing and how beautiful it was with everyone wearing floral crowns and dressed in white and chants and dancing and being

"one with the source"

Shambhala I have seen survive hurricanes, tropical storms, earthquake but things are different this time

Gloria passed away in September 2021

All of Shambhala is still grieving and now this.

Maria who now owns and cares for Shambhala is overwhelmed..I mean what would you do?

I am going to help the best I can.

I have been in touch with Maria Zalvidea Marin and in a few days she will give me info how you can help Shambhala directly.

Watching your friends and family go through a disaster is so hard, I have a hard time imaging what they are going through. Shamhala was his really hard.
